We love our little girls! We dress them in lavish clothes, we play dress up and have make up parties, and we do their hair in beautiful styles that can cause people to stop in their tracks and smile at them…. but wait! What about our little boys? We dress them and play with them, but what about their hair? Well I am so glad you asked.
It was the beginning of the year of 2014 that I had a beautiful baby boy. He was so perfect in every way and I was ready to love on him forever and ever. We play, laugh, and have lots of fun every day but it wasn’t until a few months ago that my baby boy’s hair went from wispy and thin to growing, growing, and growing to lush and curly hair.
I mean he has lots and lots of hair now and I’m thinking, “Hmm, it’s time to handle this little guy’s hair.” Now he’s neither old enough to get his hair cut nor get his hair braided, so what is left for me to do? If you have a baby boy and you are so lost about what to do with his hair, here are a few tips that can help you:
Gently cleanse his hair
When you have a baby under one year old, normally you don’t need to wash his hair with shampoos nor co wash with conditioners every day. All you really need is lukewarm water to cleanse his hair, because he does not do much during his day. However, there are those times he sweats at night or his gets food in his hair, which will call for a shampoo session.
If you do want to make sure his hair is clean, especially if he goes to day care, a light shampoo session would be sufficient. No need to scrub and scratch at his scalp for extra cleansing. Just run your fingers through his hair and then pour lukewarm water on his hair after the shampooing is complete. Oh! And make sure you do the “Alfalfa hair-point” as well, he will love that!

I am old fashion, I cut my baby boys hair as soon as there was too much to brush. They have had a low hair cut since then. I like my boys looking like boys.
