I was glad to see the APHOGEE* Serious Care & Protection Hair Care Kit knock Mega Tek off the top spot last month! It’s actually part of the reason why I decided to do the recent Aphogee giveaway.
I wouldn’t exactly call this a trend but in the last couple of months I have noticed a move away from the curl enhancing products like KCCC with you guys favoring flat irons* and anti humectants.
I wouldn’t say that it’s a worrying trend, rather an eyebrow raising one. It would seem that a lot of newly naturals are getting bored of wearing curly styles and want to experiment with straighter looks. I’m a fan of straightening my own hair too but when I see so many products that practically scream ‘MANIPULATION’, I feel there will be below average length retention for some of you this month . . . tut tut
Your hair grows fastest in the summer months so take advantage of this by sticking with low manipulation and protective styles during the warmer months. You can flat iron* your natural hair when it is cooler, in any case you are more likely to keep a press longer in the cooler months! Relaxed ladies, stick with roller-setting or air-drying for the summer. All you need is a good leave in conditioner.
