Cynthia has finally found a regimen that is working well for her, and if she keeps it consistent and simple, no doubt she will reach her goal soon! Read her story below:
Are you relaxed, natural, texturized or texlaxed? I am relaxed.
What’s your story, how did you get to where you are? I started on my hair journey in August 2009. I cut 4 inches of my damaged hair off and started research better ways to take care of my hair. The first thing I did was to stop using sulfate shampoo and discovered how important it is to properly condition my hair. Currently my goal is APL by April 2012. I am about 1 inch away right now. I will reach my goal and go beyond because I have learned what works for my hair and it is healthy at last.
What is your regimen at the moment? During the colder months I shampoo with a non-sulfate shampoo, deep condition with my personalized mix, air dry and wear protective styles during the week. I am stretching my relaxer at least 12 or 14 weeks at a time. During the summer I add co-washing 2 times a week and shampoo as needed. I do the GHE all during the summer because it helps me keep moisture in my hair. I continue with my protective styles and stay away from heat as much as I can.
And your favourite product? My favorite product is unrefined coconut oil*. I had suffered from a dry flaky scalp for years and coconut oil* has solved that issue for me completely.
What’s your signature style? My signature style would be any one of my wigs*. I love wearing them!
What is the best tip you have learned to protect your ends? The best thing to protect my ends is keeping them hidden from the elements, my clothes, and my hands. I try to keep my hair braided up and I wear buns alot.
