Yes, and there is a difference on the way your hair curls. Type 4 curls are tighter than type 3. So you have to find the best products for your hair type.
What is wrong with calling it 4b hair? Its just to describe different curl patterns. Sheesh why so sensitive. Titles describe things. That’s like saying why call it a Mercedes or a Honda why can we call them vehicles. Or why call this street A street or this street B and just call them streets. Because it describes a SPECIFIC thing so people know exactly what you’re referring to. Yes all hair is beautiful blah blah etc but some people like a name to describe differences in curl patterns. Whether you like it or not 3c is different from 4c so to describe what type of curl pattern your referring to, a name is much easier to use in a conversation to describe what type of curl of hair youre talking about. People always try to find drama in something. This is why people have names because we are all different not just people.
Why are people offended by the letter classification? It’s not meant to make one hair texture seem inferior to the other. I think it actually helps celebrate all the beautiful textures we as a culture have. Nothing wrong with diversity; I am actually grateful for this more in-depth education on black hair care and type.
Very gorgeous and why are you guys offended ? There were plenty of pics that said pretty 4a curls and noone said anything but it’s a big deal when it’s talking about 4b/4c hair ! It’s not that serious. This is coming from someone who doesn’t have 4b/4c.
